Hey all!
Just checking in to say Hi during this busy holiday season. It’s so easy to get caught up in our to-do lists that we forget to slow down and create some calm & peaceful moments. That’s exactly why I’m writing this post today.
Blogging and creating content for this site is how I slow down. I like the routine of it and the imagination it takes. I don’t always have as much time to devote to it as I would like, but this time of year, when it feels like I’ll never finish all the things I had hoped to by the end of the year, I’m reminding myself to take the time.
So while the snow powders my driveway, and with my warm coffee mug beside me, I’m clicking away at my keyboard. I’m creating a new spontaneous team-building task document and getting it ready to upload. I’m reviewing the content I’ve already added this year and checking to be sure everything that’s on this site is useful to you. I’m also planning out blog post topics for the new year.
But I’m also reflecting on the things I didn’t get to. I had wanted to blog about two incredible author experiences I’ve had over the last few months but just…didn’t. Like the amazing readers I met at the Rochester Children’s Book Festival in early November and an incredible school visit that I was so honored to do in October. They were highlights of my fall and I fully intended to share all the details with you. I’m sad that I haven’t yet but hopeful I can gather up pictures of both events and add them to this space before too long, if for no one else but me!
In the meantime, I’m excited to share that I’ll be joining over 50 other authors of all age groups and genres at the Irondequoit Public Library on December 9th from 1-4. I’ve only participated in this event once before (the year Spin the Golden Light Bulb was released) and so I’m thrilled to be heading back. A few rounds of copyedits for the book were done in that library so it will be fun to be back in that space again! If you’re local to the Rochester, NY area, I hope you’ll stop by. It’s a beautiful library and it will be filled with lots of writers talking about writing and books. What better way to slow down during this busy season? Books always pair well with cozy winter days and nights!
Oh and one more thing. I’ve noticed a huge number of team-building downloads over the last few months. To say that I’m thrilled is an understatement! I’m so happy that you found them and you have a use for them. As promised, at least one more will be uploaded to the site soon. And even more will be added after the new year. I have an overload of ideas. All I need is time to gather them up and send them your way!
As always, thanks for reading!
