In a future world where children are called by their student numbers instead of their names, and forced to study one academic category after sixth grade, eleven year-old Kia Krumpet dreams of attending the Piedmont Inventor’s Prep School and building all 67 of the inventions in her coveted Someday Box. However, that’s against the rules of society…unless she moves through the ranks of the Piedmont Challenge, a multi-level invention-building completion.

The problem is, she can’t just rely on her own academic abilities and creativity to make her dream come true. She’ll have to become a part of a team.

Set in the year 2071, against a backdrop of futuristic objects like flying scooters and airborne playgrounds, the books are about more than competitions and inventions. “A story that teaches useful lessons about teamwork, family, and forgiveness.” ~Forward Reviews. It’s about having the courage to chase your dreams against all odds, and learning that people, both young and old, aren’t always who they seem to be. But is that a good or bad thing?
