Manuscript Monday #25

Manuscript Monday is a series of blog posts which chronicle the life of my manuscript. It follows the journey I take to turn my week old baby story idea into a fully grown, polished novel. Take the journey with me. 🙂

Hi all! Happy Monday!

I’d love to say I drafted many new beautiful words of my WIP this week. I’d love to say that this draft is in much better shape than it was last week. However, I won’t be saying either of those things. The poor manuscript didn’t get much love from me this week. Yes, it’s still waiting patiently for me to give it some attention. Unfortunately, it will have to wait a bit longer. 😦

I will say that I summarized several chapters of my day-job WIP though. 🙂 And they look pretty good, actually. That project is really coming to life for me. The chapters are so detailed that writing the draft starting next week should be a breeze. Should be. We’ll see how the actual drafting process goes though!

I do have an update on Critique Corner too. I’ve received 4 entries to date and I’ve been told another is on the way. From what I’ve seen so far, the entries are great! This should definitely be an awesome round. There is still one more week to submit though and still room for more subs. So, if you’re on the fence about submitting, don’t hesitate. The more participants the better! If you need a refresher on the round, click here for details.

If you know any writers who may be interested in submitting, please let them know about the round as well. Also, if you know of anyone interested in reading the entries and offering their feedback, let them know too. The more fresh eyes we can get, the better! And for those of you not submitting, I hope you’ll stop by the site next Wednesday to read the subs and the comments. As writers, we all can benefit from reading other writer’s work too.

Have a spectacular week everyone. And remember… whatever you’re writing, be sure to own it. No one knows your story like you do. No one can write it with your perspective, your style, or your authority. And no one can make it amazing like you can. 🙂
